Santiago de Compostela has evolved from being an essential stop on the Camino to becoming one of Spain’s top summer music destinations. The boom in festivals in Santiago over the past few years has raised the city’s profile on the music scene, attracting thousands of visitors and top-tier artists.
This cultural calendar has helped establish the Galician capital as a go-to destination for live music lovers. Its stages have hosted stars such as David Guetta, the Black Eyed Peas, Bryan Adams, Robbie Williams, Maná, Bad Bunny, and Green Day, as well as renowned Spanish artists such as Rosalía, Amaral, La Oreja de Van Gogh, C. Tangana, and Melendi.
If you’re planning to visit Compostela this summer and want to add a musical event to your itinerary, here are some of the main highlights you’ll find in the city:
Wake Up! Festival
Electronic music will take over the City of Culture on June 5 and 6. The festival will bring together some of the biggest names in the techno and house scene, including Ben Klock, Joris Voorn, Dax J, Fatima Hajji, Ben Sims, and Cristian Varela, among others.
Price: €39–€99.

Son do Camiño
The highly anticipated festival—Galicia’s largest and Spain’s tenth-largest—returns between June 18 and 20 with a lineup that focuses on rock and indie sounds this year. Katy Perry, Linkin Park, and DJ Snake are the international headliners, alongside Spanish artists such as Dani Martín, Leire Martínez, Sexy Zebras, Niña Polaca, Lola Índigo, Guitarricadelafuente, and Sen Senra.
The now-familiar Son Electro stage will once again host more than a dozen performances at Monte do Gozo, featuring Viviana Casanova, Bárbara Lago, Aida Blanco, and Bego Martón.
Price: between €67 and €97.
Tickets: daily passes available.
O Gozo Festival
The party won’t stop in July either. On July 11, Maroon 5, Martin Garrix, Danny Ocean, Rita Ora, and Miriam Rodríguez will perform a one-of-a-kind concert at Monte do Gozo.
Price: between €62 and €102.
Tickets: available.
Atardecer no Gaiás
This unique, though lesser-known, event features outdoor concerts every Thursday and Friday from July 2 through August 27. The initiative combines live music with the best sunset views overlooking the City of Culture.
Price: Free.
Tickets: available.
WOS Festival
The end of summer will be marked by a new edition of the WOS Festival, scheduled for September 10–13, although the dates have yet to be officially confirmed. This event offers an artistic and musical journey through venues in the historic center of Santiago de Compostela, featuring activities that combine electronic music, film, and live performances. It was awarded Best Indoor Festival in Europe in 2018.
